Overview:
The need for systematic, careful storage of massive volumes
of a vast array of data, and efficient data retrieval from internet, intranet
and extranet databases, and the increasingly sophisticated infrastructure of
today’s organizations and institutions have led to a heavy dependence
on new and improved storage technology. However, in addition to being versatile,
modern database servers can be complex and relatively expensive and require
expertise to run.
Mentortech’s Database Management Certificate Programme provides one main
track for general information on Relational Database Management System and SQL
(common language for all modern database system, necessary for database administrators
as well as programmers). Participants are introduced to the logical and physical
aspects of database design. Various indexing technologies and RAID will also
be extensively covered. There are also elective tracks for Microsoft, Oracle
and MySQL for participants requiring product base information. In particular
administration aspects, database security and performance tuning aspects will
be covered. Participants are expected to register for at least two modules from
any tracks lasting a total of at least 6 days (36 hours) to qualify for the
certificate.
