Certificate in Networking and Security

Overview:

Data Communication and Networking are essential components of today’s computer systems. In order to implement a secure and effective networking infrastructure, a network administrator or any casual networking user must excel in these fields. The growing complexity of networks has resulted in an exponential growth in security risks. IP-based communication networks are usually the backbone of today’s information highway. By using the latest technological solutions, IP networks and Internets have brought benefits including standardised functions, applications and routing that support reliable information flow over networks. Mentortech’s networking and security course includes all aspects of TCP/IP fundamentals, design and deployment of IP solutions, application support, testing and troubleshooting and common internetworking elements such as addressing, routing, HTTP, email, DNS, FTP, NAT and Telnet.

The Certificate in Networking and Security consists of two tracks, namely the main electives for basic concepts, and cross-disciplinary electives on more advanced topics. Examples and laboratory sessions include both Microsoft Windows and GNU Linux/ UNIX platforms. To qualify for the certificate, participants are required to complete at least six-days’ worth of modules.
